Prefektur Fukushima Jepang Dihantam Gempa 6,2 SR

Tokyo (ANTARA/Xinhua-0ANA) - An earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale rocked Monday morning Fukushima Prefecture, northeastern Japan, and surrounding areas, Japan's Meteorological Agency said.

Epicenter, which occurred at 03:51 local time was located about 40 kilometers below the sea off the coast of Fukushima, the agency said.

There are no immediate reports of casualties or property damage, and no tsunami warning issued after that.

Tremors felt in Tokyo, about 240 kilometers from the prefecture.

There are no immediate reports of any abnormalities caused by the quake by operators of nuclear power plants (NPP) Fukushima Number One, who was paralyzed.

A day earlier, an earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale rocked near the east coast of Honshu, Japan at 15:07 GMT on Sunday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 49.80 kilometers, initially set at 38.8708 degrees north latitude and 142.1035 degrees east longitude.

The quake was also no reports of casualties and property damage.
