Vegan Diets Lower Risk of Cataracts

Buff vegetables and fruits may berlega liver. But it does not mean glutton meat is not the case. It turned out that eating less meat and more vegetables and fruits were linked to lower risk of cataracts.

A large scale survey of the diet (eating habits) was held 15 years. Team of British researchers found three of 50 suffer from cataracts consuming meat. That dikomparasikan with about two of the 50 vegetarians.

The study describes a decreased risk of cataract up to 30-40 percent among vegetarians and vegans than meat enthusiasts.

"Those who do not eat meat have much lower risk of developing cataracts," said Naomi Allen, an epidemiologist at the University of Oxford, not long ago.

Well, does not mean one should be vegetarian to avoid cataracts. The study does not prove eating meat causes cataracts. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables may be as a means of protecting the eyes from cataracts.

Smoking, diabetes, and exposed to hot sun can also increase the risk of cataracts.
